WHAT & WHERE: Rural Residential subdivision creating Taylor Place, Prebbleton
BACKGROUND: A parcel of rural zoned land that was rezoned to residential through a change to the District Plan. Our client was proposing to develop the land into 12 sections.
SOLUTION: We went straight to our hard held values of ‘good practise planning’ – which means ensuring that plan change applications should change the public document for the whole community. This was particularly important in this instance as this land surrounded another small pocket of land owned by someone else and we needed to take other stakeholders concerns into account.
OUTCOME: Because of our approach, our client was able to subdivide into 14 sections as opposed to 12. This more than paid for his initial developments costs.
